Uses
Femstat 3 is used to treat vaginal fungal infections.
Storage
- Store at room temperature away from sunlight.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Femstat 3 may be harmful if swallowed.
How To Use
- Follow the instructions provided with the medication.
- Insert the applicator as directed and push the plunger to release the medication.
- Discard the applicator after using.
- Use a sanitary napkin to prevent clothing stains.
- Do not use a tampon since it will absorb Femstat 3.
- Do not douche without consulting your doctor.
- Continue to use the medication as prescribed for the full time prescribed.
- If you get your menstrual period, continue treatment.
Side Effects
- Femstat 3 may cause burning, stinging or itching of the skin or vagina.
- If these symptoms persist or get worse, contact your doctor.
- If you experience any of the following effects, stop using Femstat 3 and contact your doctor: stomach cramps, skin rash, hives, headache.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor if you are using a diaphragm as birth control.
- Some suppositories can interact with the latex in diaphragms.
- Femstat 3 should be used cautiously during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
- It is not known if Femstat 3 appears in breast milk.
- Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
