dilaudid-Hp Hydromorphone Hcl Uses Dilaudid-Hp is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Storage Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children. Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include shallow and slow breathing, very slow heartbeat, fainting, seizures, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness. Pain medications work best in preventing pain before it occurs. Once the pain becomes intense, the medication is not as effective in relieving it. Use Dilaudid-Hp exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed because Dilaudid-Hp can be habit-forming. Additional Thoughts Get a prescription for an anti nausea medication just in case, do not drive, drink large amounts of water, eat more fiber, and if possible some form of exercise to help keep colon working or get a colonic.
