Emollients-Topical


Emollients are substances which soften and moisturize the skin. Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prevent dry, itchy skin and minor skin irritations (e.g., diaper rash).

Uses
Emollients are substances which soften and moisturize the skin. Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prevent dry, itchy skin and minor skin irritations (e.g., diaper rash).


Storage
  • Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight.
  • Do not freeze the liquid forms.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Dermabase may be harmful if swallowed.

How To Use
  • Dermabase is to be applied to the skin as directed.
  • Avoid use in the eyes.

Side Effects
  • Most emollients can be used safely and effectively with no side effects.
  • However, if redness, irritation or itching occur or continue, notify your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Inform your doctor if the condition for which Dermabase was prescribed does not improve after a few days.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: skin infections/disorders, any allergies.
  • Before using Dermabase, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • Skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: any skin products.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
