del-Mycin Erythromycin Uses Erythromycin is an antibiotic. It is used topically to treat acne. Storage Store this in a cool, dry area away from heat and light as directed. Check the expiration date on the bottle and discard any expired medication after that date. Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Del-Mycin may be harmful if swallowed. How To Use Del-Mycin is for topical use only. Clean and dry the affected area before applying Del-Mycin. Apply a small amount to the affected area using fingertips, cotton balls or an applicator. Do not rub. Wash hands after use. Do not use this more often or for longer than directed. Your condition will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not get Del-Mycin inside the nose or mouth. Side Effects Del-Mycin may cause redness, burning, dry skin, itching, eye irritation and oily skin. Notify your doctor if these symptoms continue or if you develop a skin rash. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to Del-Mycin, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions Tell your doctor if you have: allergies (especially to antibiotics). Del-Mycin should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Small amounts of Del-Mycin may be found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Missed Dose If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double-up the dose to catch up. Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use especially: all skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
