Uses
Benzoyl peroxide is used to treat mild to moderate acne.


Storage
  • Store between 59 and 76 degrees F (15 and 24.4 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Clearplex X may be harmful if swallowed.

How To Use
  • Clearplex X is for topical use on the affected area only.
  • Avoid using this in the eyes, mouth and nose, and on inflamed or damaged skin.
  • The liquid wash or bar soap is used instead of soap once or twice a day.
  • Wet the skin before applying this.
  • Gently work up a lather and rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not scrub the skin.
  • Creams, lotions or gels are usually applied once or twice a day to the affected area.
  • A small amount is applied to the affected area and rubbed in gently.
  • Pads: Wash the affected area of skin with a mild cleanser and water then dry it.
  • Next apply the pad, usually once or twice a day to the skin as directed.

Side Effects
  • Slight stinging, dryness and peeling may occur initially.
  • Expect this.
  • However, notify your doctor if the following effects occur: redness, irritation, scaly eruptions, rash.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: other skin problems, any allergies.
  • Clearplex X may bleach hair and colored clothing.
  • Avoid contact.
  • Safe use of benzoyl peroxide in children under 12 years old has not been established.
  • Benzoyl peroxide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is not known if Clearplex X is excreted into breast milk.
  • Though there have no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • Use the missed dose as soon as you remember and resume your regular dosing schedule.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use, both prescription and nonprescription, especially: other skin medicines.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
