Uses
Blephamide S.o.p. is used to treat or prevent eye infections.


Storage
  • Store Blephamide S.o.p.
  • at room temperature away from heat and sunlight.
  • Avoid freezing it.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Blephamide S.o.p.
  • may be harmful if swallowed.

How To Use
  • For best effect, Blephamide S.o.p.
  • must be used routinely as directed.
  • Continue using it for the full time prescribed.
  • Stopping Blephamide S.o.p.
  • too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection.
  • To apply ointment, wash hands first.
  • To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the tip of the tube to your hand or eye.
  • Warm the tube in your hand before using.
  • Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch.
  • Place tip of tube directly over the pouch and apply the prescribed amount of ointment.
  • Blink gently.
  • Do not rinse the tip of the tube.
  • Use a clean tissue to wipe any excess from your eye and from the tip of the tube after using.
  • If you are also using drops, be sure to instill the drops at least 5 minutes prior to the ointment.
  • If you are using another kind of ointment, wait at least ten minutes before applying it to the eye.
  • Do not wear contact lenses while using this product.

Side Effects
  • Blephamide S.o.p.
  • may temporarily sting your eyes for a minute or two when you first use it.
  • If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor.
  • Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying this ointment.
  • Use caution when driving or performing duties that require clear vision.
  • Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, itching/red- ness/swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: other eye problems, contact lens use, any allergies.
  • Blephamide S.o.p.
  • should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered unless it is nearly time for the next dose.
  • If it is near time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: other eye medicine.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
