Uses
Backache is an anti-inflammatory agent used to relieve pain, reduce swelling (inflammation) of arthritis and reduce fever.


Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, severe vomiting, change in amount of urine, rapid and shallow breathing.

How To Use
  • Take Backache by mouth with food or a full glass of milk or water (8oz.
  • or 240 ml) as directed by your doctor.
  • The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.
  • If you are taking Backache for pain or fever and there is no improvement within 5 days, stop taking Backache and consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Side Effects
  • Heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and headache may occur.
  • If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, ringing in the ears, changes in your hearing.
  • If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking Backache and consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately: bloody or black stools, coffee-ground vomit, persistent stomach/abdominal pain.
  • An allergic reaction to Backache is unlikely but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs.
  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.
  • If you notice any other side effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver disease, stomach/intestinal ulcers, any allergies (especially to aspirin).
  • Backache may cause stomach bleeding.
  • Daily use of alcohol and Backache may increase your risk for stomach bleeding.
  • Caution is advised when using Backache in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of Backache.
  • Children and teenagers should not take Backache if they have chicken pox, influenza, or any undiagnosed illness without first consulting a doctor about Reye s syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
  • Backache should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • Magnesium salicylate is excreted into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.
  • If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not double the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, phenylbutazone, blood thinners (e.g., warfarin, heparin), aspirin, other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen), ACE inhibitors (e.g., captopril, enalapril), acetazolamide, oral diabetic medicine (e.g., chlorpropamide, glyburide, tolbutamide), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), methotrexate, anti-seizure medication (e.g., phenytoin, valproic acid), tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline, minocycline, tetracycline).
  • Check the labels on all your medicines because they may contain aspirin or aspirin-like NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen).
  • Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of these products.
  • Backache may interfere with certain laboratory tests.
  • Inform laboratory personnel that you are taking Backache.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
