Uses
Aphthasol is used to treat mouth ulcers.


Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.


Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Aphthasol may be harmful if swallowed.
  • Symptoms of overdose may include diarrhea and vomiting.

How To Use
  • Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area as soon as possible after noticing the ulcer.
  • Generally Aphthasol is used four times daily.
  • It is best used after brushing/flossing following meals and at bedtime.
  • With gentle pressure, dab the paste onto each ulcer in the mouth with a fingertip.
  • Continue use until the ulcer heals.
  • Healing or pain control should occur within 10 days.
  • If not, contact your dentist.
  • Wash hands immediately after applying the medication.

Side Effects
  • Pain, stinging or burning in the affected area of the mouth may occur.
  • If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.
  • Very unlikely but report immediately: rash, severe mouth irritation, nausea, diarrhea.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Before using Aphthasol, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies).
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using Aphthasol.
  • It is not known if Aphthasol is excreted into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.
  • If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not double-up the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all nonprescription or prescription medication you may use.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
