Side Effects
Very moody, HAIR LOSS!!!

Additional Thoughts
Works well, but not well enough for dealing with the other side effects. Thank goodness I found this website-I thought I was going bald for no reason. Had blood tests went to three different doctors-all my doctors diagnosed me as "stressed". I knew that couldn't be it, as I wasn't anymore stressed than normal. Finally-I traced it back to my Zyrtec use!

Reason: Year round allergies, other prescription allergy meds not working sufficiently Date: 28 October 2008
Side Effects
Extreme exhaustion, lethargy, loss of interest, hip pain, back pain, occasional dizziness, hair loss.

Additional Thoughts
When first began taking zyrtec, the allergy relief was great. But it did make me very, very tired. Later added singulair. Took both at night. So exhausted, couldn't function well thru the day but didn't link it to meds. Had repeat blood tests for anemia, thyroid, etc. but all came back normal. Switched singulair to morning to stretch out side effects, but still drained of energy. After taking these meds for years, just stopped about 3 months ago and energy level is back to normal. Allergies are bad again, but will take that any day over not being able to get out of bed and not having energy to get thru the day. Also, hair loss is no longer.

Additional Thoughts
the five times I took this medicine i felt extreme anxiety, depressed, and wild moodiness. I don't commonly feel any of these symptoms. It was really awful. It wasn't until I looked online and saw other people saying the same sort of things that I concluded it was this medicine.

Reason: Allergic to everything Date: 6 August 2008
Side Effects
Major fatigue, gained 13 lbs in 3 month period very unusaul for me). wild mood swings, major depression, loss of short term memory. Stop taking the pill and fill almost back to normal.

Additional Thoughts
I thought I was dying! It must be cancer or some disease. I felt that bad. I exercise 6 days a week and I know my body very well. I new something wasn't right but never thought it would be an allergy pill to blame. Within three months these symptoms hit hard. I tracked it back to the day I started taking this medication. The side effects didn't hit me right away. I was just happy to be able to breathe. So I'm assuming the clinical trials for this drug were not long enough to witness these types of side effects. I'd rather deal with the allergies than these side effects. Glad to know others feel the same. I'm not just going crazy.

Side Effects
Not until I stopped taking the two a day I was prescribed did I start feeling so much better! Now I can really trace it back to the zyrtec. Thank you for this site!

Additional Thoughts
I believe it worked at first but I should have stopped using it because it became very bad for my system.
