Yohimbe - Oral

Uses
Yohimbe bark has been used for sexual function problems (erectile dysfunction). Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Storage
  • Refer to storage information printed on the package.

Overdose
  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

How To Use
  • Take this product by mouth as directed.
  • Follow all directions on the product package.
  • If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

Side Effects
  • Unlikely but report promptly: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, headache.
  • Very unlikely but report promptly: tremor, dizziness, nervousness, anxiety, irritability, fast heartbeat.
  • Males - if you experience painful and prolonged erections, stop using Yohimbe and seek immediate medical attention.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: kidney problems, anxiety disorders, very high or low blood pressure.
  • Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol.
  • Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product.
  • Yohimbe is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
  • Consult your doctor before using this product.
  • Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this product is not recommended.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.
  • If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not double the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: heart medications, high blood pressure drugs, caffeine-containing products (e.g., ergotamine/caffeine for migraine), ephedrine, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, procarbazine, moclobemide), other antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, fluoxetine).
  • Certain nonprescription products contain caffeine, such as various alertness pills, coffee and soft drinks.
  • Check labels carefully for caffeine-containing products, and ask your pharmacist about their safe use.
