Uses
This medication is used to treat nausea and vomiting.
Notes
  • This medication is also available in a suppository and an injectable form which are useful in cases of severe vomiting.
  • Do not share this medication with others.

Storage
  • Store this medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
  • Do not store in the bathroom.
  • Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.

How To Use
  • Take this medication by mouth exactly as prescribed.
  • Do not take this more often or increase your dose without consulting your doctor.
  • Your condition will not improve any faster but the risk of side effects will be increased.

Side Effects
  • Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur.
  • If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor.
  • Unlikely to occur, but report promptly restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, or skin rash/discoloration.
  • Very unlikely to occur, but report promptly sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin or vomiting.
  • Though very unlikely to occur, notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, or prolonged/painful erection.
  • In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of liver disease, seizure disorder, blood disorders, glaucoma, parkinsonism, asthma or if you have any allergies.
  • This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
  • Wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen when outdoors.
  • Because this medication may cause drowsiness, use caution operating machinery or engaging in activities requiring alertness.
  • It is recommended to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
  • The manufacturer of this medication states this drug should not be used during pregnancy.
  • If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately.
  • It is not known if this medication is excreted into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • Take each dose at the scheduled time.
  • However, if you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially of anti- anxiety agents, antidepressants, muscle relaxants; medication for seizures or high blood pressure; cabergoline, metrizamide, guanethidine, guanadrel, grepafloxacin, sparfloxacin, lithium, cisapride, atropine-like drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), drugs used to aid sleep, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine) and of any other drugs that may make you drowsy.
  • Many cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add a drowsiness effect.
  • Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of those products.
  • Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
