Sulfacet-R

Uses
Sulfur products have antibacterial, peeling and drying actions. This medication is used topically to treat acne and oily skin.
Notes
  • Follow your doctor's instructions and keep all doctors appointments so the effectiveness of this therapy can be monitored.

Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat.
  • Check the expiration date on the bottle and discard any expired medication after that date.

How To Use
  • HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication is for topical use only.
  • Clean the affected area before applying this medication.
  • Some products require you shake them before use; consult your pharmacist for additional details.
  • Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area 1 to 3 times a day as directed.
  • Apply with fingers or an applicator.
  • Wash hands after use.
  • Do not use large amounts, apply this more often or use this for a longer period than directed.
  • Your condition will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes.
  • Do not get this medication inside the nose or mouth.

Side Effects
  • This medication may cause redness, dry skin and peeling the first few days as your body adjusts to it.
  • Notify your doctor if these symptoms continue or if you experience excessive irritation or burning.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor if you have any allergies.
  • This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is not known if this medication is found in breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
