Side Effects
Jitteriness and heart palpatations but they are tolerable. Lasted for about 3 weeks and now they are very infrequent

Additional Thoughts
Proper diet & medication have helped me lose 23 pounds in 6 weeks. Just beware......you will no longer be able to donate whole blood while on Meridia. You must stop it for 7 days prior. I have rare blood type, and there is always a shortage. I used to donate whole blood or platelets every two months now I'm unable to.

Side Effects
Aside from the standard dry mouth ect...which you counter by drinking lots of water - always recommended for diets anyway I have also noticed ED issues. I have intermittent ED which is treated with Viagra/Cialis as needed but I found Cialis to be ineffective while taking Merdia...I discovered this when I forgot to renew my prescription and went a week without Merdia because I was travelling for business...during this time I started having spontaneous erections and on my return I made love with my partner without any issues. As soon as I went back on Merdia I started having ED issues again. THis is not reported anywhere and I will be talking to my doctor about it at my next appointment. It is frustrating because I have lost 20 pounds in 10 weeks with Merdia and exercise which is helping my blood pressure, my cholesterol and of course, my libido...... It's a cruel choice to have to make!!! Lose weight and feel great but struggle in the bedroom or struggle with your weight and feel great in the bedroom I suspect it is not reported because most of the patients on Meridia are probably female.

Side Effects
I usually have side affects with almost any medication. This medication did not cause any side affects at all.

Additional Thoughts
I have been taking it for about 1 week and have noticed since the first day that it curbs my appettite. I haven't weighed in yet until the end of my second week.

Reason: Lose 10lbs due to Elavil gain Date: 21 June 2007
Side Effects
I take 20 mg in the morning. I have difficulty swallowing capsules, so I empty them into a glass of water. I am on my 2nd day with few side effects. Insomnia is bearable. I wake up with energy, and feel somewhat rested, so I will not worry about it. So far I have lost 3.4 lbs, which is most likely water weight. My pants fit better, so I am happy. This is not a miracle drug. You will forget to eat sometimes, but you will still need to maintain will power and make good choices when eating. I took phendimetrazine in the past. I think M. is better because you do not have that ?rush? feeling and the racing heart. So far, I am happy.

I have been on this medication for 10 days and I've lost 7 LBS. It works great for me. Truly curbs the want to eat all the time, and when I do eat, I get full at much smaller portions.
