Improves breathing in people with a condition called Hurler or Hurler-Scheie mucopolysaccharidosis I (MPS I).



How To Use
  • APPEARANCE: Injectable. Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given.
  • This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins. A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. This medicine is usually given once per week.
  • The medicine is injected slowly and the needle will remain in place for up to 4 hours. You may be given other medicines to keep you from developing a fever or skin reaction to laronidase.

Side Effects
  • Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Chest pain. Dark-colored urine or pale stools. Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, and runny or stuffy nose. Lightheadedness or fainting. Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands, arms, legs, or feet.
  • Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet. Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness. Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes.

Precautions
  • You should not receive this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to laronidase.

Missed Dose
  • This medicine needs to be given on a fixed schedule.
  • If you miss a dose or forget to use your medicine, call your doctor or pharmacist for instructions.

Drug Interactions
  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Tell your doctor if you have heart disease or liver disease.
