Initially sleepiness, which went away when my tolerance built up. It helped greatly for many years. Later, it caused aching in my joints and increased anxiety. Coming off it was very difficult.

Additional Thoughts
I didn't take this drug every day, but even so I developed a tolerance to it. I didn't even know I was dependent until I stopped taking it. I had very scary effects even with a small dose. Please be careful coming off this drug. No one told me I needed to come off gradually.
