Kaolin/pectin Kaolinpec, Kaodene NN, Kapectolin Uses Treats diarrhea. Storage Store the medicine at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. How To Use APPEARANCE: Liquid. Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use and how often. If your doctor did not order this medicine, follow the instructions on the package label. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure your dose carefully using a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup. Use a dose of the medicine after each loose bowel movement. Do not share your medicine with anybody else. Drink plenty of caffeine-free, clear liquids during the first 24 hours. You will need to replace the fluids your body loses when you have diarrhea. Side Effects Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Swelling of your lower abdomen Precautions You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to kaolin or pectin. Missed Dose This medicine is usually used after a loose bowel movement. It is not used on a regular schedule unless your doctor tells you to. Drug Interactions If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor before using this medicine. Stop using this medicine and call your doctor if you still have diarrhea after 48 hours or if you get a fever.
