Inapsine Uses This medication is a tranquilizer. It is used in medical and diagnostic procedures for its calming effect and to reduce nausea and vomiting. Notes Your condition and response to this medication will be closely monitored. Storage Store this medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light as directed. Do not store in the bathroom. How To Use HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This is given by injection into a muscle or a vein by a health care professional usually 30 to 60 minutes before the procedure. Additional doses may be given into a vein as needed based on your condition and response. Side Effects This medication causes post-operative drowsiness, dizziness and a floating feeling. Expect these effects. If any of these continue or become severe, inform your doctor. Other side effects include anxiety, restlessness, change in blood pressure, breathing trouble, a rapid heart rate or muscle stiffness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions Before using this, tell your doctor if you have any kidney disease, liver disease or any allergies. Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness since this medication can cause dizziness and drowsiness. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. This medication should be used with caution in elderly persons as they are more sensitive to its effects. Missed Dose This medication is only given as needed by a health care professional. Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescription medication you may take particularly narcotic pain relievers, tranquilizers or medication for sleep, anxiety or depression. Droperidol may reverse the effects of epinephrine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

As I was trying to crawl out of my skin. Very scarey but the nurse reconized the reaction and gave me benadryl and before it could get really bad it was over. Additional Thoughts I am now reading that there is also heart complications people have suffered from while takin inapsine. The worst thing I've ever experienced in my life. Very antsy and brain not functioning well. Just the functioning of my brain was painful. It hurt to think. I wanted to rip my skin off and RUN. I was in the hospital with a kidney stone and was in a bed with an IV. I came very close to ripping the iv out and running through the halls. The doctors and nurses didn't think anything was wrong, so I had to wait for the drug to leave my system. One of the scariest experiences of my life. It is an awful medication. It makes you feel depressed for days afterwards. Doctors in the ER like to give it to pain patients so they don't have to "risk" treating them with pain killing medication. I find the side effects of Inapsine to be much worse than any painkiller I've been given for my migraines. I will never accept this med again.
