Immune Globulin-Im Baygam Uses Immune Globulin is used to provide protection (immunization) against Hepatitis A, measles, varicella and rubella infections. It is also be used to boost the body s natural immune response in persons with immune system problems. Storage Immune Globulin is stored under refrigeration as directed. Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. How To Use Immune Globulin is administered by injection into a muscle by a health care professional. Side Effects Muscle stiffness, redness, warmth, pain and tenderness may occur at the site of injection. Fever, chills, headache, weakness and nausea may also occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: skin rash, swelling of the hands/feet or face, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions Tell your doctor if you have any: pre-existing illnesses, blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Immune Globulin should be use only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if Immune Globulin is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Missed Dose It is important that each dose be used as scheduled. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor who will help establish a new dose schedule.
