This medication works to loosen phlegm and mucous in the lungs. It is used to relieve a dry, nonproductive cough and enables "coughing up" of mucous.

Humibid Pediatric

Uses
This medication works to loosen phlegm and mucous in the lungs. It is used to relieve a dry, nonproductive cough and enables "coughing up" of mucous.
Notes
  • This medication comes in a variety of dose forms such as tablets, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and a syrup.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend the best product for you.

Storage
  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.
  • Do not store in the bathroom.

Overdose
  • Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and unusually slow heartbeat.

How To Use
  • Sprinkle total contents of capsule on a small amount of soft food (e.g., jelly, applesauce) just before eating.
  • Capsule contents should not be crushed or chewed.
  • The capsule may also be swallowed whole with a full glass of water.Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise.Do not take this medication for a chronic persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma.
  • If the cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, headache or rash, consult your doctor.

Side Effects
  • This medication may cause stomach upset or nausea.
  • These effects should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication.
  • If these effects persist or become worse inform your doctor.If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, allergies (especially drug allergies).

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  • Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

Drug Interactions
  • Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially of: all cough-and- cold products.
