How To Use
- HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication should be used as directed by your doctor.
- Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level.
- Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night.
- Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
- Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.
Side Effects
- Dizziness, headache, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, change in taste sensation or dry mouth may occur.
- If these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor.
- Unlikely but report seizures, loss of consciousness or tingling of hands or feet.
- Very unlikely but report unsteadiness, mood/mental changes, rash, itching, sore throat, fever, severe stomach pain, vomiting, vaginal irritation or pain, tenderness or swelling at injection site.
- This drug may cause urine to darken in color.
- This is not harmful.
- In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention.
- Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history including any allergies.
- Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection).
- Avoid alcoholic beverages while using this medication and for at least 3 days after finishing this medicine because severe stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, headache and flushing can occur.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this drug.
- It should not be used during the first 3 months of pregnancy and used with caution during the last 6 months.
- This drug is excreted into breast milk and using it while breast-feeding is not recommended.
- Consult your doctor.

- Do not double the dose to catch up.

Thoughts 2 courses of Flagyl, 14 days each. All the symptoms of pregnancy plus more!! My pharmacist warned me about not taking Flagyl with alcohol- he warned me not to even use mouth wash! I hope this finally gets the c. diff. I'm ready to be done because I can't tell if I'm getting better because of the horrible side effects! Also, try eating probiotic EVERYTHING for c. diff. Yogurt, cheese, cereal, etc.

Side Effects me again, some of the PN, lasted for years after, in other words, i had less sensitivity to touch in my fingers and skin afterwards, it is cheap drug, costs like one dollar for a weeks supply in 3rd world, it is over the counter there, many die because they cant afford it.
Additional
Thoughts yes if you got intestinal bugs this is the great thing that wipes them all out, but side effects are strong, ask dr. for minimum dose based on your weight, often you have to take it 2 or 3 times to finally get rid of the parasites, those things are strong, i feel intestinal parasites are meant by evolution to slim us down.

Side Effects Yes all the side effects mentioned I had, what i would like to add about the side effects, because I had to take this many times when I lived in the 3rd world, is the side effects are worse the first time you take drug, if take it 6 months later seems less much less.
Additional
Thoughts Well it is a poison not really a drug, it does great with killing bugs, some of side effects are dose related, i cut my dose down and still got rid of bugs and had much less side effects, in 3rd world, people take this 2x per year for a week just to de-bug thier intestines, for life time, it is nasty but works.
