Notes
- Do not share this medication with others.
Storage
- Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.
- Do not store in the bathroom.

How To Use
- Take this with food or after meals to prevent stomach upset.
- The usual dose for adults is two 250mg capsules twice daily taken at evenly spaced intervals.
- Or take as directed by your doctor.
- If you are uncertain about your dosing schedule, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain it to you.
Side Effects
- This medication may cause stomach upset, gas, bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, headache, drowsiness, dizziness or trouble sleeping during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication.
- If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly.
- Notify your doctor promptly if you develop diarrhea, stomach pain, rash or itching.
- In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention.
- Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or breathing trouble.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of kidney problems, asthma, nasal polyps and of any allergies, including allergies to sulfasalazine or aspirin-like drugs.
- This medicine may cause stomach bleeding.
- Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
- This drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- Olsalazine is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use, especially warfarin.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
