How To Use
- HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This product should be used only under the direct supervision of a dentist or physician.
- This medication is for external use only.
- For canker sores, a blunt needle, cotton-tipped swab or probe is used to apply the product for 1-3 minutes.
- Treatment is followed by a rinse with neutralizing solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) one-half teaspoonful in 4 ounces (120 ml) of water.
- For pyorrhea, the product is applied with a glass syringe and blunt needle to affected ulcers, pockets and gum margins.
- After use for 1-3 minutes, the product is neutralized with baking soda solution as noted above.
- The procedure is repeated on the third and sixth day, then as needed until the gums are normal.
Side Effects
- Irritation in the affected area and temporary stinging immediately after application may occur.
- If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor or dentist.
- If excess irritation occurs, a rinse with baking soda solution (see HOW TO USE section) will neutralize the medication.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, including any allergies (especially drug allergies).
- Do not use this product on normal gums, skin or other tissues.
- Avoid eye contact.
- This product will damage most fabrics.
- This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, consult your dentist, physician or pharmacist promptly.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
