Uses
Used with other medicines to keep your body from rejecting a kidney transplant. This medicine suppresses your immune system.



How To Use
  • APPEARANCE: Injectable. Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given.
  • This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins. A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. You will receive a total of five doses of this medicine.
  • Your first dose is given to you right before the transplant.
  • Then you will receive one treatment every 14 days.

Side Effects
  • Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Chest pain or fast heartbeat. Fever, cough, and body aches. Pain, itching, or burning where the needle is placed. Pain or problems with urination. Swelling in your ankles, or feet. Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness.

Precautions
  • You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to daclizumab.


Drug Interactions
  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breast feeding, or if you have high blood pressure or diabetes.
  • This medicine may raise your blood sugar. Your doctor will need to check your blood at regular visits while you are using this medicine.
  • Be sure to keep all appointments. You may be more likely to get infections while using this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have symptoms of an infection, such as fever or chills.
  • Try to stay away from people with colds, flu, or other infections. Using this medicine may cause you to have a higher risk of getting cancer of the lymph system.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about this risk.
