How To Use
  • HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication is generally used twice daily as directed.
  • For accuracy and to avoid contamination, have another person insert the drops if possible.
  • Hold container in the hand for a few minutes in order to warm it.
  • This will minimize dizziness.
  • To apply ear drops, wash hands first.
  • To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your ear or any other surface.
  • Shake the container well for 10 seconds before using.
  • Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear upward.
  • Place the dropper directly over the ear and administer the prescribed number of drops.
  • To help the drops roll into the ear (for adults) hold the earlobe up and back or (for children) hold the earlobe down and back.
  • Keep the head tilted for about two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if so directed.
  • Do not rinse the dropper.
  • Replace cap after use.
  • For best results, this medication must be used routinely as directed.
  • Continue using it for the full time prescribed, then promptly discontinue use.
  • Stopping this medication too soon, however, may not clear the infection and may result in a reinfection.
  • If the infection is not improved after 7 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Report any ear discharge that occurs after the treatment period is completed.
  • Not for use in the eye.

Side Effects

  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, hives, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing.
  • If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions
  • Tell your doctor your medical history, including other ear problems (e.g.
  • perforated ear drum, infections) and any allergies.
  • Prolonged or repeated use of antibiotics may result in a secondary infection.
  • Use for the prescribed period of time only.
  • This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
  • Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is not known whether the ciprofloxacin in this ear medicine is excreted into breast milk.

Side Effects
Wow, where do I begin. For starters there was maybe one other time where I felt so completely depressed and hopeless in my life. I seriously considered stopping this medication halfway through due to the insane depression. On top of all that it made my skin feel as if it was burning, lots of aches and pains, and very jittery and nervous/anxious and also experienced blurry vision. And dizzy. I must be a masochist since it was hell to make it through the 10 days of torture but by the grace of the Great Pumpkin (or my own stupidity) I survived, although I'm still feeling the after-effects.

Additional Thoughts
If you live to work out while I do, take it easy while you're on the cipro and up to a week or two after you stop just to be safe. There have been many substantiated reports of serious tendon and ligament damage suffered by weight lifters and athletes while taking cipro. These injuries usually occur at the tail end of treatment and in the week or so after discontinuing the drug. A personal perspective, I waited close to a week after finishing the 10 day treatment to start exercising again, and I figured I'd start light with some push-ups. I've experienced pain after push-ups before (especially after taking some time off) but nothing like this. I'm much more sore than I should be (or have ever been) after doing push-ups. So it looks like I'm going the very conservative route for the next couple weeks. I've been doing light cardio and not much else. So be careful, you don't want to damage a tendon and have to spend months trying to rehab it. What a nasty dirty little drug this cipro is.

Auditory Hallucinations, Delirium of Guilt, Thought broadcasting (Feeling that my thoughts are being broadcasted on TV) Running commentry of my thoughts being given by people around me, Feeling of not trusting others, suspicious of close relative poisoning me, feeling of hidden cameras monitoring me, feeling that your coleagues are in league to harm you.

Additional Thoughts
TOXIC PSYCHOSIS OR CIPROFLOXACIN-INDUCED ACUTE PSYCHOSIS IS KNOWN TO OCCUR IN WHATEVER PERCENTAGE, BUT WHEN IT OCCURES TO YOU PERCENTAGE DOES NOT REALLY MATTERS. I WAS WRONGLY DIAGNOSED AS SCHIZOPHRENIA AND WAS UNJUSTLY TREATED WITH VARIOUS ANTIPSYCHOTICS AND ECTs FOR 6 WEEKS UNTILL I RECOVERED BY STOPPING ALL MEDICATION.
