Cilostazol Pletal Uses Treats a circulation problem in which too little blood flows into your leg muscles (intermittent claudication). Helps you walk longer distances with less pain. Storage Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of any leftover medicine after you have finished your treatment. You will also need to throw away old medicine after the expiration date has passed. Keep all medicine away from children and never share your medicine with anyone. How To Use APPEARANCE: Tablet. Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to. You may be told to take a dose of the medicine two times each day, at least one-half hour before or two hours after breakfast and dinner. Your leg pain may not get better right away. Some patients may need to use this medicine for 2 to 4 weeks before it starts to help. Others may need to use the medicine for 12 weeks before their leg pain is better. Side Effects Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Chest pain. Dark-colored urine or pale stools. Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat. Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, and body aches. Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting. Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands, arms, legs, or feet. Rapid weight gain. Severe headache. Shortness of breath, cold sweat, and bluish-colored skin. Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet. Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness. Precautions You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to cilostazol, or if you have heart failure, or certain bleeding problems. Missed Dose If you miss a dose or forget to use your medicine, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose. Drug Interactions Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, or bleeding problems. If your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse, call your doctor.
