This combination medication is used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers. This combination medication can decrease anxiety, stress, stomach/abdominal pain, cramping, and diarrhea.Chlordiazepoxide belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines which act on the brain to produce a calming effect and to relax muscles. It works by increasing the effects of a certain natural substance in the body (GABA). Methscopolamine is known as an anticholinergic medication that slows down the movements of the gut and dries up some fluids in the body.

Uses
This combination medication is used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers. - Do not share this medication with others.
- It is against the law.If this drug is used for an extended time, laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., liver function tests, complete blood count) may be performed periodically to check for side effects.

Storage
- Store in a tightly closed container at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
- Do not store in the bathroom.
- Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness, slow/reduced reflexes, slow breathing, fainting, loss of consciousness.
How To Use
- Take this medication by mouth, usually 2 to 4 times a day before meals and at bedtime or as directed by your doctor.
- The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.Take this medication 2-3 hours before or after taking any antacids containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium.
- These products may bind with chlordiazepoxide, preventing its full absorption.This medication may cause dependence, especially if it has been used regularly for an extended time (more than a few weeks) or if it has been used in high doses.
- In such cases, if you suddenly stop this drug, withdrawal reactions may occur.
- Such reactions can include trouble sleeping, anxiety, muscle twitching, and seizures.
- Report any such reactions to your doctor immediately.
- When stopping extended, regular treatment with this drug, gradually reducing the dosage as directed will help prevent withdrawal reactions.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.Use this medication exactly as prescribed.
- Though it is very unlikely to occur, this medication can also result in abnormal drug-seeking behavior (addiction/habit forming).
- Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it for a longer time than prescribed.
- Properly stop the medication when so directed.
- This will lessen the chances of becoming addicted.Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
Side Effects
- Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, reduced sweating, nausea, constipation, blurred vision, or headache may occur.
- If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes (e.g., aggression, confusion, depression), slurred speech, clumsiness, trouble walking, shaking (tremor), uncontrollable movements, face/muscle twitching, trouble urinating, trouble sleeping.Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: easy bleeding/bruising, fainting, signs of infection (e.g., persistent sore throat, fever), persistent nausea, stomach/abdominal pain, extreme tiredness, dark urine, vomiting, yellowing eyes/skin.A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs.
- Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to chlordiazepoxide; or to methscopolamine; or to other benzodiazepines (e.g., diazepam); or to other anticholinergics (e.g., scopolamine); or if you have any other allergies.This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions.
- Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: certain eye problems (e.g., glaucoma), bladder problems (e.g., blockage, enlarged prostate).Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung/breathing problems (e.g., chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder-COPD, sleep apnea), blood disorder (porphyria), kidney disease, liver disease, mental/mood disorders (e.g., depression, ADHD, psychosis), drug/alcohol abuse.This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery.
- Limit alcoholic beverages.Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication.This medication may reduce sweating and therefore may lead to heatstroke in hot weather.
- Use caution while engaging in strenuous activity during hot weather.Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug, especially drowsiness.This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
- It may harm an unborn baby.
- If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately.
- Consult your doctor for more details.This drug may pass into breast milk and could have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
- Therefore, breast-feeding is not recommended while using this drug.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not double the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
- Your healthcare professionals (e.g., doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them.
- Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.This drug should not be used with the following medications because very serious interactions may occur: pramlintide, sodium oxybate.If you are currently using either of the medications listed above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: other anticholinergics (e.g., drugs for Parkinson's disease such as benztropine/trihexyphenidyl, belladonna alkaloids), certain antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, nefazodone, TCAs such as imipramine), cimetidine, clozapine, digoxin, disulfiram, kava, levodopa.Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g., alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., MAO inhibitors, phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, risperidone, amitriptyline, trazodone).Check the labels on all your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products, motion sickness medications) because they may contain drowsiness-causing or drying ingredients.
- Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of those products.This product can affect the results of certain lab tests (e.g., certain pregnancy tests, urine tests for alkaloids/steroids).
- Make sure laboratory personnel and all your doctors know you use this drug.Smoking can decrease the effectiveness of this drug.
- Tell your doctor if you smoke or if you have recently stopped smoking because your dose may need to be adjusted.Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
