This medication reduces excess scaling. It is used in the treatment of scaling scalp conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, cradle-cap and dandruff.
Storage
- Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
- Discard unused medication after expiration date on the container.
How To Use
- HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication is for use on the scalp only.
- Use as directed, usually twice a week.
- For best results, wet scalp.
- Thoroughly massage a small amount of the medication into the scalp to make a lather.
- Let the lather remain for 3 minutes; rinse.
- Repeat application and rinse.
- Apply carefully to avoid contact with eyes.
Side Effects
- Redness or irritation of the scalp may occur.
- If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor.
- Notify your doctor if you develop a skin rash, burning, inflammation or swelling of the scalp while using this medication.
- These may be signs of an allergic reaction.
- This medication may discolor light, blond, gray or bleached hair.
- Use with caution.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing illness or allergies.
- This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; If it is near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use especially any skin products or shampoos for dandruff or psoriasis.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
