Uses
Treats active Crohn's disease. This medicine is a steroid.

Storage
  • Store the medicine at room temperature in a closed container, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep all medicine away from children.


How To Use
  • APPEARANCE: Capsule. Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to take and how often.
  • Do not take more medicine or take it more often than your doctor tells you to.
  • You may be told to take this medicine in the morning. Swallow the capsule whole.
  • Do not chew, crush, or break it. If you are changing from another medicine to Entocort™, make sure you understand how much of each medicine to use.
  • You may need to watch for side effects, or your doctor may gradually change your dose of one or both medicines. This medicine comes with patient instructions.
  • Read and follow these instructions carefully.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Never share your medicine with anyone.

Side Effects
  • Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Rapid weight gain Rounded face, unusual weight gain, easy bruising, unusual hair growth Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet Unusual bruising Unusual tiredness, weakness, or dizziness

Precautions
  • You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to budesonide.

Missed Dose
  • If you miss a dose or forget to take your medicine, take it as soon as you can.
  • If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Drug Interactions
  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease, tuberculosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, ulcers, glaucoma, cataracts, or a family history of diabetes or glaucoma. Avoid people who are sick or have infections, because you may get sick more easily while using this medicine.
  • If you are exposed to measles or chickenpox, call your doctor right away. If your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse, call your doctor. Do not stop using this medicine suddenly without asking your doctor.
  • You may need to slowly decrease your dose before stopping it completely. Make sure any doctor or dentist who treats you knows that you are using this medicine.
