Benzonatate - Oral Tessalon Perle Uses Benzonatate dulls the cough reflex. It is used to relieve a cough due to colds or allergies. Its effects last for up to eight hours. Storage Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, tremors, and seizures. Do not break or chew the capsules or allow them to dissolve in your mouth since the medication can numb the mouth and throat.
