Uses
This medication is used for elimination of certain nasal bacteria as part of an infection control program.
Notes
- This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only.
- Do not use it later for another infection or give it to others.
- A different medication may be needed in those cases.
- Do not allow anyone else to use your medicine.
Storage
- Store at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
- Discard any unused medication after your treatment is completed.
- Do not save it for later use.

How To Use
- HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: Apply one-half of the contents of the tube to one nostril, then apply the other half to the other nostril in the morning and again in the evening (2 tubes per day) for 5 days or as directed.
- After adding the drug to each nostril, squeeze the nostrils together gently, then release.
- Repeat this for about one minute to spread the ointment throughout the nose.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished.
- Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow.
- Discard the tube after one use.
- Do not reuse later.
Side Effects
- Headache, stuffy nose, sore throat, change in taste sensation, burning or stinging of the nose and cough may occur.
- If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor.
- Very unlikely but report immediately any rash, swelling, redness, severe itching or severe discomfort.
- If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Before using this drug, tell your doctor your entire medical history, including any allergies (especially drug allergies).
- Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral or nasal infection).
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication.
- It is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.
- If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Drug Interactions
- Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially other antibiotics and nasal products.
- Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
