A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins or as a shot into a muscle. Side Effects Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Abnormal behavior, drowsiness, or confusion. Anxiety or agitation. Dark-colored urine or pale stools. Lightheadedness or fainting. Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or pain in your upper stomach. Pale skin or pale lip color. Slow heartbeat. Trouble breathing. Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes. Precautions You should not receive his medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to barbiturates. You should not receive this medicine if you are pregnant. You should not receive this medicine if you have porphyria, or certain types of liver disease or lung disease. Drug Interactions Using this medicine while you are pregnant can harm your unborn baby.
