Treats ovarian cancer that has relapsed after chemotherapy.

Storage
  • Store this medicine at room temperature in a closed container, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.


How To Use
  • APPEARANCE: Capsule. This medicine, like all drugs used to treat cancer, is very strong.
  • Make sure you understand why you are receiving it, and its risks and benefits. This medicine must be taken on a schedule.
  • Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often to take it.
  • It is best to take this medicine after meals and at bedtime. Do not take more of this medicine than your doctor ordered. During your treatment, you may also receive other medicines to help prevent nausea and vomiting.

Side Effects
  • Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: Numbness or tingling in arms, hands, legs, or feet Unexplained fever, chills, or sore throat Unusual bleeding or bruising Unusual tiredness Wheezing or trouble breathing

Precautions
  • You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to altretamine.

Missed Dose
  • Take your medicine as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next regular dose, take two doses at the same time.

Drug Interactions
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. Taking this medicine during pregnancy can cause harm to the unborn baby.
  • You should avoid becoming pregnant during your treatment. Your doctor may want to check your blood at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.
  • Be sure to keep all appointments. You may get infections more easily while you are taking altretamine.
  • Stay away from crowds or people with colds, the flu, or other infections. Chemotherapy causes nausea and/or vomiting in most people, sometimes even after receiving medicines to prevent it.
  • Ask your doctor or nurse about other ways to control these side effects.
