Side Effects
I have taken Aleve before, but this time was different. After about 20 minutes, my face became flushed and the palms of my hands began itching. The itch spread to both hands, then to my fingers. The itching was uncontrolable and when it got to the point of driving me insane, the bottoms of both my feet began to itch horribly. My wife and I were at a town festival, out in the middle on nowhere, and we could not locate any Benadryl. I admit I was getting somewhat nervous. The itching subsided in about 45 minutes.

Additional Thoughts
I will never risk taking Aleve again.

Side Effects
Had a sudden attack of severe stomach pain (just below breastbone). Also had difficulty breathing and speaking, and profuse sweating. Not sure if a result of pain but was very dizzy, trembling, and felt almost like an anxiety attack (which I have never had). Pain ceased as suddenly as it begain after about 30 minutes, though we were close to calling an ambulance. It took about 90 minutes to feel normal again, and in that time, the trembling, rapid heartbeat, and weakness improved. My sister has had 2 identical attacks in the past 6 months, both times being taken to hospital, 1st for about a week where they could find no heart difficulty. (By time ambulance arrived, symptoms had subsided.) On second occurrence at an out of town hospital, she was told by the doctor that it was a side effect he had been seeing from usage of Aleve. I'm now a believer that this may be true. Was very frightening and I almost passed out in parking lot trying to get to my car. Luckily I wasn't alone.

Additional Thoughts
On advice from my dr, have taken consistently for 2+ years.

Reason: Backache Date: 28 June 2007
Side Effects
My son took two Aleve after lunch, at work, due to severe backache. Very soon after, his hands began to itch and it spread all over his body. His feet itched so bad that he took off his shoes and socks to scratch them. His body turned red. His throat, face, eyes, and his body started swelling, including hands and feet. He lost his eyesight and passed out, hitting his head. Luckily, his boss had Benadryl. He took two of those and soon his symptoms started to subside. He has taken Aleve in the past and this was just a sudden allergy or there is something different about the Aleve he took that day.

Additional Thoughts
Taken now and then for backache, never steadily.

Helped with joint pain, but I'm worried about even more severe reaction next time. I plan to avoid this med in the future.

Reason: arthritis in hand Date: 29 June 2007
Side Effects
I am healthy female and took Aleve for mild arthritis in the right hand. I took one Aleve and within 15 mins. the palms of my hand started burning and itching severely. Within minutes it started on the bottom of my feet and hives started covering my body. It was horrible and scary! I took benadryl and it took about a hour for the effects to subside. I threw the bottle away and would "never" take it again.
