Adagen Uses This medication is an enzyme that is given to persons who lack it. It is used to improve the immune system. Storage Store this medication in the refrigerator. Do not freeze it or keep it at room temperature. How To Use HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION: This medication is given by injection into a muscle usually every 7 days. It is important that this medication be used as scheduled to maintain the proper enzyme level. Blood tests will be done frequently to monitor your response to the medication and your dosing schedule will be adjusted accordingly. Symptoms should improve gradually in a few weeks to months. Side Effects This medication has been reported to cause headache and pain at the injection site. If these occur or you experience any adverse effects, notify your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing blood disorders, bone marrow disease, illnesses or any allergies. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Missed Dose Do not double dose if missed. Resume regular schedule as soon as possible. Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially vidarabine, which may alter test results. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
